Ella’s Inn Policies

Ella’s Inn is located at 118 West 3rd Avenue, Grand Marais, MN 55604. By completing your booking, you agree to the policies below on behalf of yourself and anyone staying with you.

Check-in and check-out

  • Check-in: 4:00 PM (no early check-ins please)
  • Check-out: 10:00 AM

You will receive check-in details no later than three days before your arrival.

Cancellation policy

Payment in full is due at the time of booking. The amount of the first night’s rate is nonrefundable. No refunds are given if cancellation occurs within 30 days of arrival unless a rebooking is possible. Please cancel by calling 218-387-2737 or emailing info@grandmaraisartcolony.org. We do not accept cancellations due to weather.

No refunds will be given for severe weather or storms. We do not refund due to road conditions.

House rules

  • Candles, incense, smoking and vaping are not allowed anywhere on the property.
  • Pets are not allowed apart from pre-approved licensed service animals.
  • Quiet hours are between 10 pm and 8 am. Amplified sound or music is not permitted, and no parties or fireworks.
  • Guests under the age of 18 are not allowed to stay without an adult family member or guardian.
  • Only registered guests may stay overnight. Any other person you invite onto the property is your responsibility.
  • Please refrain from using illicit drugs or excessive drinking while on site.
  • Guest spaces include the main floor and the second floor. The basement is not part of the rental.
  • Only use appliances for their intended uses.
  • Guests may not sublet or transfer their booking to anyone else.

Parking

Two vehicles may be parked in the drive to the north of the Inn. Vehicles may also be parked along 3rd Avenue West. The City of Grand Marais follows a snow ordinance from November 15 to April 15.

Housekeeping

There is no housekeeping service during your stay. Linens and bath towels are provided; we suggest you bring beach towels. Towels and linens may not be taken from the Inn.

When you check out, please:

  • Strip the bed and place all linens in the provided hamper.
  • Tie up all full bags of trash and put them in the bin outside the door to the north of the Inn.
  • Load and run the dishwasher.

Water and septic

Please practice water conservation. Do not flush anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at any time.

Damages and liability

Please keep the property and all furnishings in good order. Guests agree to pay for damage to the property, including furnishings and household items, that occurs as a result of their stay. Damages do not include normal wear and use.

The Grand Marais Art Colony is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occur while on the premises or its facilities, or for the loss of personal belongings or valuables. By accepting this reservation, all guests expressly assume the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or from others they invite to use the premises.

The Art Colony may enter the property at reasonable times, with prior notice, to make repairs and inspections.
